And We’re Back…

munsterThere is light at the end of the tunnel. Tonight sees the return of the mighty Munster. They play a friendly at Cork’s Musgrave Park tonight against Sale Sharks. The side has been named and features mostly unknown names as Tony McGahon is resting the big guns for the start of the Magner’s League in three weeks. Its good to see the young lads get a run, such as Dave Ryan (a good mate of mine), as they won’t be getting to wear the red jersey much in the coming season.

toulonKeeping with the Ryan family, former Munster prop Tim Ryan made the move to the south of France during the summer, as one of many incoming players at Toulon. Other names include Jonny Wilkinson and Felipe Contipomi. Toulon have already played their friendlies and so tonight will kick off their first Top 14 game of the new season against Stade Francais. Theres a good preview of the opening weekend on Heavens Game. I can’t find the starting line up online – need to brush up on my French if I want to follow the Top 14 this year – but Tim Ryan was included in the squad announcement, so fingers crossed for him.
